Office Visits
First Visit
At the first visit to our office, you will be greeted, given an office tour and will become acquainted with Dr. Lepley and her staff. Then, information will be gathered to aid Dr. Lepley in assessing the need for orthodontic treatment. This information includes a medical/dental history and clinical examination. Since Dr. Lepley is a specialist in dental and facial esthetics and occlusal function, her exam will evaluate not only the alignment of the teeth, but the jaws, face and occlusion (bite) as well.
Usually at this visit, Dr. Lepley will give a general idea regarding the type of treament needed, and our treatment coordinator will give you an estimate of cost, if treatment is recommended. The final decision regarding treatment will be made following evaluation of diagnostic records.
Records
Diagnostic records are generally made subsequent to the exam to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records include plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, x-rays and a wax bite.
Regular Appointments
The appointment when you get your braces usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us every 4 to 8 weeks for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
